SMF Early Floor Talk Flat market despite busy 24 hours Key Earnings Reports

Although the broader market finished the day flat yesterday, and futures are little changed this morning, there has been an abundance of new information over the past 24 hours that is being digested by the markets. Stocks sold off early in the day yesterday on mixed economic data, with the downside move accelerating after a much weaker than expected Philly Fed reading (5.1 vs. 10.1 consensus). However, the major averages bottomed out shortly thereafter and spent the majority of the day chopping higher, recovering a portion of the early losses.
